William Cyril O'Driscoll was born in Charleston in 1881. He attended the South Carolina Military Academy (which became the Citadel in 1910), and graduated from the Medical College of the State of South Carolina in 1905. Dr. O'Driscoll was a professor of anatomy at the Medical College of the State of South Carolina for 53 years, where he was known as a gifted and charismatic teacher. Olin Burnham Chamberlain was born in Charleston, South Carolina on June 25, 1892 to Norman A. and Julia Davis Chamberlain. He graduated from the Charleston High School in 1910 and from the College of Charleston in 1914. The following fall he enrolled in the Medical College of South Carolina from which he graduated in 1918 as the first honor graduate.
